I have more than 39 years of consulting experience for 24 African countries as well as 4 Asian countries in developing integrated manufacturing in apparel and working with Government Institutions on conducive policy development for industrial parks development., investment promotion and manufacturing.

  3. Board member to RIVATEX, EPZA and The Kisumu National Polytechnic
  4. ED to African Cotton Industries Limited until 2009-14
  5. Chair of Kenya Apparel Manufactuers Aassociation (KAMEA) in 1996-7

Some of the key highlights of his work in the past 38 years:

  • Created more than 17,000 jobs in Kenya from 2015-to 2017
  • Facilitating investments of over USD 70 Million in Textile & Apparels from 2015-to 2018
  • Increased domestic, regional and international trade by 16% gross from 2014-to 2016
  • Development Strategy for the revitalization of Cotton Production in Kenya and Chairing the task force for Commercialization of BT Cotton under the Ministry of Industrialization
  • Advocacy missions to the USA and Europe for increased export  of MSMEs and EPZ manufactures
  • Co-led Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) team of over 22 investors from 8 Asian Countries worth over $15 Billion. This included a comprehensive study across Kenya, Uganda, and Ethiopia development investment and business partnership
  • Established MoU with the American Apparel & Footwear Association (AAFA) for creating a platform of trade & investment through trade fairs, Origin Africa.
  • Building a series of knowledge-based seminars for SMEs focusing on the empowerment of women in market access and business incubation
  • Created a sustainable partnership model with funding partners including USAID, DANIDA, DFID, and EU_EDF focusing on farmers for sustainable agriculture, training and food security.
  • Focused on influencing African Government Agencies to help create conducive industrial development policies and successfully sustaining existing industry while promoting new investment
  • Lead several missions to lobby and influence policy changes for the African Growth & Opportunity Act (AGOA) Resulting in the growth of Cotton Value Chain  across Africa for trade & investment initiatives; building and sustaining relations with key contacts in US Congress, US Executive branch (primarily State, Commerce, USAID and USTR) and multilateral organizations like The World Trade, African Union, African Development Banks, and other key organizations
  • Conducted an in-depth study and report for the Sub- Sahara Africa in 2005 for the US Trade Hub. The study comprised of “Impact of end of Multi-fiber agreement, quotas regime for textile and apparel exports under AGOA. This spanned five countries: Kenya, Uganda, Ethiopia, Mauritius and Madagascar.
  • Collaboratively developed a regional strategy in 2009 with ITC Geneva and COMESA for cotton to clothing value chain across 18 countries of COMESA. This resulted in the sustainable growth of the apparel supply chain.
  • Facilitating the Tanzania visa certification by the USA in 2002 for Africa Growth and Opportunity Act (AGOA)
  • Past Chairman of the Kenya Apparel Manufacturers and Exporters Association (KAMAE) from 1994-96
  • Founder member of the Bangladesh Garment Manufacturers Association (BGMA) in 1982
