An engineer by qualification, Mukherjee began his professional journey with IBM India. In 2012, he transitioned from corporate leadership to establish the Kolkata Society for Cultural Heritage (KSCH)—a nonprofit organization committed to building self-reliant and climate-resilient communities across India.
Under his leadership, KSCH has:
- Planted over 2.3 million mangrove saplings in the Sundarbans
- Transformed over a million lives through sustainable development initiatives
- Created over a million women entrepreneurs through livelihood programs
His innovative solutions—ranging from solar microgrids, clean cookstoves, smart waste management systems, to EdTech integration in rural schools—demonstrate a strong commitment to clean technology and inclusive growth.
Key achievements include:
- Generating 2185 kW of green electricity for rural areas
- Contributing 1.96 lakh annual carbon credits via clean energy and mangrove programs
- Launching blockchain-enabled donation tracking and AI-powered project monitoring systems for transparency and scalability
KSCH’s strategic collaborations with organizations such as BPCL, Haldia Petrochemicals, NRK Trust (London), and various government departments have amplified impact and sustainability. The organization’s flagship women-led initiative, Swayamsiddha, has expanded into global e-commerce markets, while its eco-tourism models support thousands of families with alternative incomes.
In 2023, Mukherjee was elected Chairman of the West Bengal Cyclists’ Association (WBCA) under the Cycling Federation of India, furthering his vision for sustainable mobility and youth empowerment.
A respected thought leader, he has delivered keynote addresses on Akashvani (All India Radio) and at the Merchants’ Chamber of Commerce & Industry, influencing the national dialogue on dignity-driven development.
