Ike Sinha
Ike was born in Shillong, Meghalaya and received his early education from St Edmunds School, considered to be a highly prestigious school in India. But he learnt the true education from his Mother who taught him all moral values and to serve the less privileged children and the community. But top priority is to serve the nation as Nation comes first, always and every time. His Mother had always taught him to be kind and compassionate with less privileged children.
After his education, Ike entered into promoting the Handloom products in India and specializing with manufacturing of silk textiles, handloom silk as ‘ Make in India’ product from Bhagalpur, Bihar and marketing them in Delhi in early 1990. Then decided to promote silk products like silk ties, silk ties as gift items in London. He marketed silk gift products in London for a year. He realized it was time to give back to the society back in India and in the Joy of Giving as the mission to work for the less privileged children. Decided to work as Director and Coordinator to Shillong Chamber Choir in 2005. Worked single handed to promote these talented you to perform all over India and especially in all Metro cities. Took sponsorship from the Government of India and especially Ministry of External Affairs and its autonomous body ICCR. This Choir won three Olympic Gold Diploma at the World Choir Games in China in the year 2010. Worked with MEA to present the Choir in Rashtrapati Bhawan in the Banquet to welcome President Barak Obama and First Lady Michelle Obama. Thereafter I took them to the US tour to represent India in the Closing Ceremony of the World Choir Games in Cincinnati, USA in 2012. Many events were arranged at the Kennedy Centre, Washington D.C, World Bank, IMF and in different US Cities for neary four months. After their return, the Government of India used the Choir for soft diplomacy.
Ike was then invited to New York and interviewed by the Founder and the Board of Directors to work for the Not-For- Profit organization Unite4:Good in India in 2014. He became fully fledged Country Director of Unite4:Good in India to bring about a change in the mindset of the youth and children, to carry out Acts of children education specially education of girl child who are less privileged and women empowerment.
Ike has worked with the Government of Gujarat to curate the Cultural event and Fashion Show on the sidelines to promote Khadi at the pet project of our Hon’ble Prime Minister Modi ji “ Vibrant Gujarat, 11-12 January 2017. Promoted LIVE Indian classical musicians at the Fashion Show and also paid tribute to Mahatma Gandhi to promote Khadi as our national identity. He was bestowed with the Rex Fellowship and the Karmaveer Silver Chakra Award (instituted with the UN and issued by iCONGO – International Confederation of NGOs for more than 15 years now) Rex Karmaveer Global Fellow 2015-2016 with a Silver Medal for contribution of work done on a national and international level. Unite4:Good is a revolutionary global movement creating a worldwide environment to be full of positivity, inspiring, giving and promoting charitable engagement, compassion, kindness and empathy.
