Hungary joined the India-led International Solar Alliance, and trade between the two nations surpassed €1 billion in 2023. During his February 2024 visit to New Delhi, Hungarian Foreign Minister Péter Szijjártó emphasized enhancing economic relations and direct air connectivity. Both countries are exploring collaborations in green hydrogen and waste management. Indian companies, including Apollo Tyres and HCL Technologies, are key investors in Hungary, providing over 10,000 jobs. Meanwhile, Hungarian airline Wizz Air is planning to launch direct flights between India and Europe by 2025. Institutional mechanisms, such as the Joint Committee on Economic Cooperation, continue to facilitate bilateral relations, which are focused on trade, investment, and sustainable growth.
