Singapore Boosts Quantum Computing Investment

Singapore is set to invest S$300 million (US$222 million) over the next five years to advance quantum technology research and talent development, part of its National Quantum Strategy (NQS). Aimed at bolstering its status as a leading hub for quantum technologies, initiatives include enhancing the Centre for Quantum Technologies (CQT) into a national R&D hub and launching programs like the National Quantum Sensor Programme and National Quantum Processor Initiative. The strategy will fund up to 100 quantum experts through the National Quantum Scholarships Scheme and foster collaborations with industry to drive innovation. Quantum computing, utilizing qubits to perform complex computations exponentially faster than traditional computers, holds promise for revolutionizing industries from drug discovery to artificial intelligence.
